The key domestic benchmarks continued to trade higher, holding early gains, in late morning deal on Wednesday amid sustained buying by retail and domestic institutional investors, tracking firm cues from fellow Asian peers as investors remained focused to President-elect Donald Trump's first news conference later in the day. Metal index rallied over 4 per cent as signals of quickening price growth in China boosted metals and other commodities. IndusInd Bank surged nearly 6 per cent after the bank reported a better-than-expected growth of 29.2 per cent in its standalone net profit at Rs 750.64 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2016.

At 12:25 hours, the 30-share barometer index of Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex was 27051.93, up by 152.37 points or by 0.57 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 8343.05, up by 54.45 points or by 0.66 per cent.

In the day’s trade so far, the BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 27078.69 and intraday low of 26978.44, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 8347 and intraday low of 8322.25.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 312.00,+3.86%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 446.00,+3.50%), Lupin Ltd. (Rs. 1513.25,+1.73%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 299.00,+1.68%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1229.00,+1.37%), among others.

On the flip side, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2300.00,-0.67%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 965.20,-0.56%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 2726.75,-0.51%), Cipla Ltd. (Rs. 572.85,-0.49%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 162.20,-0.12%), were among top losers on BSE.

On the sectoral front, metal and bankex stocks emerging as top gainers, adding as much as 4.08 per cent and 1.75 per cent respectively.

The market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was strong. On BSE out of total shares traded 2745, shares advanced were 1699 while 893 shares declined and 153 were unchanged.

The Indian equities extended gaining streak for the fourth straight session on Wednesday amid sustained buying by domestic and foreign institutional investors on hopes of positive GDP data to be released later in the day. The market saw buying across capital goods, healthcare, consumer durables, realty, oil & gas and PSUs stocks, tracking firm trends from fellow Asian peers.

At 12:05 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 26505.82, up by 111.81 points or by 0.42 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 8180.9, up by 38.75 points or by 0.48 per cent.  

In the day’s trade so-far, Sensex touched an intraday high of 26531.37 and intraday low of 26395.5, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 8188.8 and intraday low of 8139.25.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1385.20,+2.26%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 261.00,+2.05%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 5152.00,+1.20%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 279.55,+1.18%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 712.40,+0.86%), among others.

On the flip side, GAIL (India) Ltd. (Rs. 425.00,-0.69%), Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 306.50,-0.65%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 188.80,-0.61%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 990.75,-0.51%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 162.45,-0.43%), were among top losers on the BSE.

On the sectoral front, consumer durables and capital goods stocks emerged as top gainers, adding as much as 1.91 per cent and 1.58 per cent respectively.

The market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was strong. On BSE out of total shares traded 2486, shares advanced were 1578 while 735 shares declined and 173 were unchanged.

The key domestic benchmark indices continued to trade higher in late morning deal on Thursday, supported by gains in index heavyweights such as Tata Steel, Cipla, SBI, Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Auto, ICICI Bank, M&M, TCS and ONGC, tracking strength across markets in Asia amid hopes that the new US President Donald Trump may pursue business friendly policies.

At 12:15 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 27695.1, up by 442.57 points or by 1.62 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 8586.5, up by 154.5 points or by 1.83 per cent.

After the initial shock, traders are reassessing Trump’s win in the US Presidential elections, hoping that the 45th US President may undertake some tax cuts and fiscal stimulus, which will be good for corporate earnings and equities.

In the day’s trade so-far, Sensex touched an intraday high of 27743.46 and intraday low of 27491.93, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 8598.45 and intraday low of 8512.9.

In line with benchmark indices, the broader market were also trading higher with the BSE MIDCAP was at 13025.83, up by 304.17 points or by 2.39 per cent, while the BSE SMLCAP was at 13040.47, up by 336.37 points or by 2.65 per cent.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 435.80,+9.00%), State Bank of India (Rs. 281.00,+8.18%), Cipla Ltd. (Rs. 560.95,+6.22%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 294.65,+4.65%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 295.25,+4.61%), among others.

On the sectoral front, all the thirteen indices were trading in green, with metal and PSU stocks emerged as top gainers, adding as much as 5.91 per cent and 3.98 per cent respectively.

The market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was strong. On BSE out of total shares traded 2594, shares advanced were 2071 while 420 shares declined and 103 were unchanged.

The Indian equities extended day’s gain in noon session of day’s trade, helped by strong buying across broader markets, as easing inflation bolstered the case for further interest rate cuts from the Reserve Bank of India, boosting risk taking appetite. Further gains in index heavyweights such as TCS, RIL, GAIL, ONGC, L&T and Power Grid Corp also gave a lift to market sentiments.

At 1:10 hours, the 30-share barometer index of Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex was at 27702.12, up by 59.01 points or by 0.21 per cent, and then NSE Nifty was at 8589.8, up by 16.45 points or by 0.19 per cent.

Shares of IT bellwether Infosys stayed under selling pressure after it cut its revenue guidance to 8-9 per cent for FY17 from 10.5-12 per cent in constant currency terms.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) were trading flat after the country's largest software exporter reported a growth of 8.4 per cent in its consolidated net profit after taxes (PAT) at Rs 6,603 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2016.

Among others, state-controlled Jammu & Kashmir Bank tanked over 9 per cent in intra-day trade on the Bombay Stock Exchange after many brokerages downgraded ratings on the stock citing weak outlook.

In the day’s trade so far, the BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 27763.54 and intraday low of 27548.18, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 8600.2 and intraday low of 8549.8.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were GAIL (India) Ltd. (Rs. 428.45,+3.59%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 278.10,+2.22%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1077.35,+1.86%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1462.05,+1.79%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 176.70,+1.29%), among others.

Meanwhile, Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 851.00,-1.27%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1039.00,-1.24%), Lupin Ltd. (Rs. 1466.85,-0.92%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1360.00,-0.66%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 411.20,-0.64%), among top losers on BSE.

On the sectoral front, oil&gas and capital goods stocks were leading the gain, adding as much as 2.15 per cent and 1.1 per cent respectively.

The market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was positive. On BSE out of total shares traded 2835, shares advanced were 1696 while 934 shares declined and 205 were unchanged.

The Indian stocks continued to trade higher in late morning deal on Thursday as gains in index heavyweights such as ICICI Bank, Tata Steel, SBI, Hero MotoCorp, Axis Bank, Maruti Suzuki, HDFC Ltd, HDFC Bank, Tata Motors, GAIL, ONGC and RIL, tracking firm cues from Asian peers after US Federal Reserve kept key short-term interest rate steady. Sustained inflows from foreign investors and across-the-board buying by the investors also helped market sentiments.

At 12:10 PM, the Bombay Stock Exchange bellwether Sensex was at 28731.83, up by 224.41 points or by 0.79 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 8848.45, up by 71.3 points or by 0.81 per cent.


On the sectoral front, oil&gas and PSU stocks were leading the gain, rising as much as 1.27 per cent and 1.15 per cent respectively.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was strong. On BSE out of total shares traded 2718, shares advanced were 1602 while 928 shares declined and 188 were unchanged.
