The key domestic benchmark indices continued to trade lower, led by losses in consumer durables and metal stocks, amid flattish trade in most markets across Asia curbing risk taking appetite.

At 1:17 PM, the Bombay Stock Exchange bellwether Sensex was at 28026.13, down by 103.71 points or by 0.37 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 8672.95, down by 26.45 points or by 0.3 per cent.

On the economic front, the RBI has allowed 100 per cent FDI in regulated financial services companies excluding banks and insurance companies, a move aimed at boosting foreign investment in Asia’s third biggest economy.

During the day’s trade so far, the BSE Sensex touched an intraday high of 28163.41 and intraday low of 27957.92, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 8709.1 and intraday low of 8652.05

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Cipla Ltd. (Rs. 579.55,-2.60%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1061.70,-2.46%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 528.00,-2.00%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 1151.45,-1.35%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 1342.10,-1.25%), among others.

Meanwhile, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 3127.70,+1.69%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 849.40,+1.05%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2416.50,+0.69%), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 498.15,+0.53%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1260.75,+0.43%), were among the top gainers on BSE.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was strong. On BSE out of total shares traded 2910, shares advanced were 1399 while 1279 shares declined and 232 were unchanged.

The Indian equities continued to trade higher in afternoon session of day’s trade as investors and speculators indulged in broad-based buying activity, tracking a positive trend across markets in Asia as a rally in crude oil prices bolstered risk taking appetite. 

At 1:15 hours, the 30-share barometer index of Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex was at 28118.4, up by 134.03 points or by 0.48 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 8693.3, up by 34.2 points or by 0.39 per cent. 

On the global front, Asian stocks were higher as traders eyed the outcome of the final presidential debate between Trump and Clinton. Hopes that the European Central Bank which meets today for an interest rate decision may offer some cues over a possible extension to its bond buying program also supported sentiment. 

In the day’s trade so far, the BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 28212.5 and intraday low of 28031.57, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 8727 and intraday low of 8678.3. 

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 275.95,+4.13%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 280.20,+3.26%), State Bank of India (Rs. 259.45,+1.82%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 1357.95,+1.18%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 430.40,+1.16%), among others. 

Meanwhile, ITC Ltd. (Rs. 238.55,-0.52%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1253.15,-0.43%), Lupin Ltd. (Rs. 1505.95,-0.40%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 747.55,-0.38%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 548.90,-0.25%), were among top losers on BSE. 

On the sectoral front, metal and bankex stocks were leading the gain, adding as much as 1.35 per cent and 1.32 per cent respectively. 

The market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was strong. On BSE out of total shares traded 2932, shares advanced were 1596 while 1113 shares declined and 223 were unchanged.

The key domestic benchmark indices continued to trade firm during the late morning session supported by strong buying among financials and index heavyweight RIL. 

At 11:20 hours, the share benchmark index was trading at 28176.92 up by 192.55 points or by 0.69 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 8713.45 up by 54.35 points or by 0.63 per cent. 

Traders took encouragement with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement that India was the fastest growing economy and that it can play a major role in providing strength to global economy that is facing slowdown. 

Positive global cues too aided sentiments with most of the Asian counters trading mostly in green at this point of time, led by the Japanese market which is up by over a per cent. 

In the bullish trade so-far, Sensex touched an intraday high of 28212.5 and an intraday low of 28031.57, while the NSE Nifty touched an intraday high of 8727 and an intraday low of 8687.75.

Among the sectors, Bankex index was at 22578.84 up by 351.56 points or by 1.58%. ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 277.75,+4.81%), Punjab National Bank (Rs. 143.50,+1.88%), Federal Bank Ltd. (Rs. 72.15,+1.83%), Bank of Baroda (Rs. 157.50,+1.48%), State Bank of India (Rs. 258.35,+1.39%),. 

On the flip side. Some selling was witnessed in Oil&Gas index was at 12193.22 down by -27.84 points or by -0.23%. Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 321.50,-1.65%), Petronet LNG Ltd. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2640 , shares advanced were 1610 while 839 shares declined and 191 were unchanged. 

On the global front, Asian peers were trading firm driven by strong US earnings and oil prices near a 15-month high, as the third and final US presidential debate before the November 8 election got underway.

The key domestic benchmark indices were trading marginally in red during the late morning deals weighed down by profit taking in index heavyweights post the sharp gains in the previous session.

At 11:18 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 28002.35 down by 48.53 points or by 0.17 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 8666.25 down by 11.65 points or by 0.13 per cent.

In the choppy trade so-far, Sensex touched an intraday high of 28131.07 and an intraday low of 27976.73, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 8698.75 and an intraday low of 8656.8.

However, losses remained capped with report that the GST Council on Tuesday headed by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley discussed a four-tier rate structure suggested by the Centre and agreed on compensation to loss-incurring states for the first five years of the new tax regime. Jaitley also informed that the GST Council meeting has reached a consensus on definition of revenue to compensate states for revenue loss from GST implementation.

The Indian equities continued to witness selling pressure in noon session of day’s trade amid selling across rate sensitive realty and auto stocks, tracking negative cues from most markets across Asia as bets that the US Federal Reserve is moving closer to tightening interest rates curbs risk taking appetite

At 1:25 hours, the 30-share barometer index of Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex was at 27581.57, down by 92.03 points or by 0.33 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 8534.75, down by 48.65 points or by 0.57 per cent.

Fed Chair Janet Yellen on Friday reiterated her call for gradual rate hikes as robust retail sales data upped the odds of December tightening.

Private sector lender ICICI Bank surged over 6 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange after the Essar group signed a deal with Russia’s Rosneft, United Capital Partners and Trafigura Group Pte. to sell 98 per cent of its asset to repay loans.

In the day’s trade so far, the BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 27803.21 and intraday low of 27517.18, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 8615.4 and intraday low of 8518.4.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1320.50,-2.69%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 3419.00,-1.81%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1240.00,-1.70%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 1187.95,-1.65%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 300.90,-1.62%), among others.

On the sectoral front, auto and realty stocks were leading the decline, falling as much as 1.54 per cent and 1.18 per cent respectively.

The key domestic benchmark indices remained choppy in the late morning trading session after Infosys, India’s second largest software exporter has lowered its revenue guidance (constant currency) for FY17. The company cut its FY17 revenue guidance for second time this year to 8-9 per cent against 10.5-12 forecasted earlier.

At 11:20 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 27643.76 up by 0.65 points or by 0 per cent while the NSE Nifty was at 8562.25 down by 11.1 points or by 0.13 per cent.

The key domestic benchmark indices continued to hover in red during the late noon trading session amid selling pressure in index heavyweights as investors and foreign funds were adopting a cautious approach.

At 14:10 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 28350.02 down by 22.21 points or by 0.08 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 8720.55 down by 6.05 points or by 0.07 per cent.

In the choppy trade so-far, Sensex touched intraday high of 28432.74 and intraday low of 28311.11 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 8749.2 and intraday low of 8704.35.

Gains also remained capped with reports that in September, rainfall fell 15 per cent below average, which could mean the season will end up in deficit. Trades remained cautious with the report that foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 477 crore on September 14, 2016.

On the global front, Asian peers ended the day on a mixed note, while European counters were also trading mixed.

The key domestic benchmark indices remained choppy during the late noon trading session with Sensex and Nifty swinging between negative and positive zone.

At 14:20 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 28360 up by 6.46 points or by 0.02 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 8722.1 up by 6.5 points or by 0.07 per cent. Investors remained on the sidelines after India's consumer price inflation slowed to 5.05 per cent in August compared with 6.07 per cent in the previous month as food prices eased. Further, the country's industrial output eased to 2.4 per cent in July from a year ago, because of sluggish production of capital goods and consumer non-durables.

The August whole-sale price index increased to 3.74 per cent compared with 3.55 per cent in July , as per the government data released today.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2891 , shares advanced were 1739 while 962 shares declined and 190 were unchanged.

On the global front, Asian peers ended the day in red, while European counters were trading in green.

The key domestic benchmark indices remained choppy during the late noon trading session as they continued to hover in negative and positive territory.

At 14:18 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 29044.24 up by 66.22 points or by 0.23 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 8950.3 up by 7.3 points or by 0.08 per cent.

Shares of BHEL jumped 15 percent after it posted better-than-expected June quarter results. Its net profit jumped 54.2 percent to Rs 77.7 crore from Rs 50.4 crore in corresponding quarter last fiscal. Total income during the quarter jumped 29 percent to Rs 5622 crore against Rs 4368 crore in year-ago period.

Among the sectors, consumer goods and PSUs were on the buyer’s radar, rising 1.68 per cent and 1.45 per cent respectively.

On the global front, Asian peers ended the day on a mixed note, while European counters were trading in green.

Indian equity benchmarks were trading in a narrow range during the late morning deals on Thursday after weaker-than-expected Q1 GDP growth in Asia’s third biggest economy, and tracking a mixed trend at fellow Asian peers.

At 11:28 hours, the 30-share barometer index of Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex was at 28,472.16, up by 19.99 points or 0.07 per cent while the NSE Nifty was at 8,794.95, up by 8.75 points or 0.10 per cent.

Indian economy grew at the slowest pace in last six quarters at 7.1 per cent in the April-June period of current fiscal on the back of subdued performance of mining, construction and farm sectors.

GDP had recorded 7.5 per cent growth in the April-June quarter of last fiscal and 7.9 per cent in January-March quarter. The previous low was 6.6 per cent GDP growth in the October-December quarter of the 2014-15 fiscal.

On the global front, Asian markets were trading mixed as investors awaited the much anticipated US jobs data to be released on Friday, and which will offer further clues over the timing of the next Fed interest rate hike.

Indian equity benchmarks continued to trade in the positive territory during the late morning deals on Wednesday led by sustained foreign fund inflows and increased buying by retail investors mainly in the auto, banking and healthcare sector stocks amid mixed global cues.

At 11:18 hours, the 30-share barometer index of Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex was at 28436.37 up by 93.36 points or 0.33 per cent while the NSE Nifty was at 8784.5 up by 40.15 points or 0.46 per cent.

Meanwhile, caution prevailed ahead of Friday’s US jobs data which may offer more clues over whether the US Federal Reserve raises interest rates in the near-term. Also all eyes will be on the Q1 GDP data set for release today.

On the global front, Asian markets were trading mixed as traders weighed speculation of a rise in US interest rates this year as robust consumer confidence data bolstered the case for monetary tightening in the world’s biggest economy.

The key domestic benchmark indices continued to remain choppy during the late noon trading session amid selling pressure in IT stocks and feeble cues from the global peers after Fed Chair Janet Yellen acknowledged a strengthening economy and said that rates could move higher over coming months.

At 14:19 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 27808.57 up by 26.32 points or by 0.09 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 8577 up by 4.45 points or by 0.05 per cent.

Among the sectors, IT and realty indices was on the seller’s radar, declining 1.05 per cent and 0.98 per cent respectively.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2810 , shares advanced were 1142 while 1475 shares declined and 193 were unchanged.

On the global front, Asian peers ended the day on a mixed note, while European counters were also trading weak note after comments from Fed Chair Janet Yellen stressed that the case for monetary tightening in the world’s biggest economy had strengthened, curbing the lure for risky assets.

Tracking weak cues from fellow Asian peers, Indian equity benchmarks were trading flat during the late morning deals on Monday due to sustained selling by participants amid increasing expectations of US interest rate hike this year.

At 11:04 hours, the 30-share barometer index of Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex was at 27,787.28, up by 5.03 points or 0.02 per cent while the NSE Nifty was at 8,566.15, down by 6.4 points or 0.07 per cent.

Buying momentum was witnessed mainly in the metal and auto sector stocks.

Meanwhile, shares of DLF, MOIL, Indian Oil Corporation will be in focus today as they reveal their April-June quarter earnings data.

On the global front, most of the Asian markets were trading in the red as investors across the globe weighed comments from US Fed Chair Janet Yellen who stressed that the case for monetary tightening in the world’s biggest economy had strengthened. Shanghai Composite was down 0.16 per cent and Hang Seng slid by 0.43 per cent but Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose 2.41 per cent after Bank of Japan Governor reiterated a commitment to ease monetary policy further if necessary, stressing that he would step up economic stimulus without hesitation.

On the global front, Asian markets were trading mixed amid caution ahead of Yellen’s speech on Friday which may offer more clues over when the Fed plans to raise interest rates next. Shanghai Composite was trading 0.08 per cent higher. Hang Seng fell by 0.94 per cent but Japan’s Nikkei 225 advanced by 0.54 per cent.

The key domestic benchmark indices continued to trade under pressure during the late noon trading session with IT majors leading the decline.

At 14:20 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 28004.07 down by 72.93 points or by 0.26 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 8637.5 down by 29.4 points or by 0.34 per cent.

Further, weakness in Indian rupee too dampened sentiment. The rupee was trading weak at 67.19 against the dollar, down by 13 paise, as the dollar bounced back in the wake of hawkish comments from a Federal Reserve official boosting the likelihood of a U.S. interest rate hike this year.

Among the sectors, IT and TECK were among the major losers, declining 1.23 per cent and 1 per cent respectively. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2926, shares advanced were 1325 while 1396 shares declined and 205 were unchanged.

On the global front, Asian peers ended the day on a mixed note, while European counters were trading firm.
