Indian equities continued its losing streak on Monday, tracking bearish cues from Asian markets, weighed down by selling across IT and Teck stocks. Infosys continued losing streak on Monday and plunged over 4 per cent, hitting 52-week low, as some of rating agencies downgraded stock following chief executive officer Vishal Sikka’s shocking exit. The company on Saturday said that it would buy back shares worth up to Rs 13,000 crore from investors at Rs 1,150 per share.

At 12:20 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 31452.7, down by 71.98 points or by 0.23 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 9826.1, down by 11.3 points or by 0.11 per cent.

In the day’s trade so far, the Sensex touched intraday high of 31641.81 and intraday low of 31435.31, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 9884.35 and intraday low of 9819.7.

VIP Industries surged over 11 per cent, hitting 52-week high, on the Bombay stock Exchange amid spurt in the volume trade.

Among others, of V-Mart Retail rallied over 19 per cent, hitting 52-week high, on the Bombay stock Exchange after the company reported a more than double net profit of Rs 22 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, 2017 compared to Rs 9.37 crore in year ago quarter.

Blue Star rose nearly 5 per cent after the company said it has won prestigious Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) orders of over Rs 500 crores.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 887.50,-3.86%), Cipla Ltd. (Rs. 556.55,-1.62%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 376.55,-1.09%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 1186.80,-1.08%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 220.55,-1.03%), among others.

On the flip side, Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 247.40,+1.69%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 498.00,+1.49%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 162.25,+0.93%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2532.00,+0.76%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 630.00,+0.74%), were among top gainers on BSE.

On the sectoral front, IT and Teck emerged as top losers on BSE, falling as much as 1.22 per cent and 1.11 per cent respectively.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2601, shares advanced were 1181, while 1267 shares declined, and 153 were unchanged.

Indian equities were trading flat with slightly negative bias on Thursday, undermining firm cues from Asian peers, as investors took some breather after strong rally in the last two sessions. Index heavyweight Infosys jumped nearly 3 per cent after Sebi approved IT bellwether's share buyback proposal and also offered a solution for participation by holders of the company’s American Depository Receipts (ADRs) and Global Depository Receipts (GDRs). Among others, Suven Life Sciences rallied over 6 per cent after the drug maker secured process patents of new chemical entities for treatment of disorders associated with neurodegenerative diseases in Europe, Japan and New Zealand.

At 12:15 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 31767.18, down by 3.71 points or by 0.01 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 9903.75, up by 6.45 points or by 0.07 per cent.

In the day’s trade so far, the Sensex touched intraday high of 31937.51 and intraday low of 31714.1, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 9947.8 and intraday low of 9884.5

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 246.65,+4.05%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1005.60,+2.95%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 414.95,+2.04%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 172.20,+1.23%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1579.20,+0.78%), among others.

On the flip side, Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 1170.15,-1.42%), Cipla Ltd. (Rs. 583.90,-1.07%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 393.75,-0.93%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 1726.05,-0.89%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 3985.00,-0.82%), were among top losers on BSE.

On the sectoral front, metal and teck emerged as top gainers on BSE, adding as much as 1.88 per cent and 1.07 per cent respectively.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was strong. On BSE out of total shares traded 2528, shares advanced were 1419, while 991 shares declined and 118 were unchanged.

Indian stock market indices continued to trade in positive terrain in afternoon deal on Monday, tracking firm cues from Asian peers, amid short covering by investors in most beaten stocks. Realty and metal stocks saw surge in buying, led by DLF which rallied over 13 per cent after real estate major reported strong earnings for the first quarter ended June, 2017. The company has posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 110 crore in Q1FY18, from Rs 261 crore in the same quarter last year which included exceptional gain of Rs 329 crore. Among others, Cipla jumped over 6 per cent after drug maker reported 21 per cent year-on-year growth in its consolidated net profit at Rs 409 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2017.

At 12:23 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 31468.12, up by 254.53 points or by 0.82 per cent, and then NSE Nifty was at 9792.25, up by 81.45 points or by 0.84 per cent.

In the day’s trade so far, the Sensex touched intraday high of 31501.29 and intraday low of 31298.9, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 9806.85 and intraday low of 9752.10.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Cipla Ltd. (Rs. 570.50,+5.12%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 616.00,+3.33%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 394.10,+2.66%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 1732.00,+2.23%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 7607.90,+2.08%), among others.

The Indian equities continued to trade in the negative terrain in late morning deal on Thursday as investors pressed sell button amid escalating geo-political tension between the United States and North Korea after the later tested fresh Nuke missiles.

At 12:25 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 31702.42, down by 95.42 points or by 0.3 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 9876.45, down by 31.6 points or by 0.32 per cent.

The Indian equities continued to trade in the negative terrain in late morning deal on Tuesday as investors pressed sell button amid concerns over valuations. Adding to it, sustained foreign outflows and mixed earnings report also weighed on market sentiment. In line with the benchmark indices, the broader markets were also reeling under selling pressure, with MIDCAP and SMLCAP indices falling as much as 0.66 per cent and 0.76 per cent, respectively. Bharti Infratel tumbled nearly 5 per cent amid surge in volume trade. According to data available with exchange, as much as 858.06 lakh shares have changed hand on the counter as against two week average of 0.92 lakh shares.

At 12:17 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 32088.06, down by 185.61 points or by 0.58 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 10002.7, down by 54.7 points or by 0.54 per cent.

In the day’s trade so-far, Sensex touched intraday high of 32354.77 and intraday low of 31915.2, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 10083.8 and intraday low of 9947.

Hindalco Industries jumped over 7 per cent, hitting fresh 52-week high, on the Bombay stock Exchange after its overseas arm, Novelis Inc reported a four-fold jump in net income at USD 101 million for the June quarter of FY18, compared to USD 24 million in the corresponding period of previous year.

Tata Steel continued gaining streak on Tuesday and surged nearly 4 per cent, hitting fresh 52-week high, on the Bombay stock Exchange after the steel maker reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 921 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2017, compared to net loss of Rs 3,183 crore in the corresponding period last year.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 244.25,-2.81%), State Bank of India (Rs. 305.10,-1.93%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 2172.00,-1.73%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 276.20,-1.36%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 172.10,-1.29%), among others.

On the flip side, Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 622.95,+3.83%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 2917.50,+0.95%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 1195.00,+0.91%), Cipla Ltd. (Rs. 568.50,+0.59%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1406.45,+0.51%), were among top gainers on BSE.

On the sectoral front, all the indices were bleeding in red, barring metal stocks, while realty and oil&gas stocks emerged as top losers on BSE, falling as much as 1.85 per cent and 1.63 per cent respectively.

Oil marketing companies, such as IOC and HPCL were trading higher after the government asked state-controlled oil companies to keep raising prices of subsidised kerosene by 25 paise every fortnight until the subsidy is eliminated. Bata India surged nearly 7 per cent, hitting 52-week high, after the company reported 20 per cent year-on-year growth in net profit at Rs 60.4 crore in June quarter, compared to Rs 50.5 crore in year ago quarter.

At 12:20 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 32337.64, down by 139.1 points or by 0.43 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 10,044.05 down by 37.45 points or by 0.37 per cent.

The Indian benchmark indices continued to trade in negative terrain with marginal losses in volatile session on Wednesday as traders turned cautious ahead of the Reserve Bank policy announcement due later in the day. The market experts opined that ease in WPI and retail inflation in June and contraction in India’s manufacturing activity in the month of July, may put pressure on the Reserve Bank of India to cut interest rate.

At 12:10 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 32553.6, down by 21.57 points or by 0.07 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 10100.1, down by 14.55 points or by 0.14 per cent.

In the day’s trade so-far, Sensex touched intraday high of 32686.48 and intraday low of 32532.22, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 10137.85 and intraday low of 10091.7.

Paring early losses, the Indian Rupee was trading marginally higher against the greenback on Wednesday amid selling of dollar by banks and exporters, while sustained foreign fund inflows also boosted home currency.

On the sectoral front, metal and FMCG stocks were among top losers on BSE, falling as much as 0.91 per cent and 0.62 per cent respectively.

Hero MotoCorp jumped over 2 per cent after the auto major reported 17 per cent year-on-year growth in monthly sales at 623,269 units in July compared to 532,113 units.

Hindustan Copper tumbled nearly 8 per cent in early trade after the the government set floor price for its offer for sale at Rs 64.75, down 8.35 per cent from Tuesday’s closing price of Rs 70.65 on the BSE.

On the flip side, NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 171.10,+3.76%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 3815.95,+2.54%), Lupin Ltd. (Rs. 1040.65,+2.22%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1624.95,+1.33%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 521.10,+0.96%), were among top gainers on BSE.

The Indian equities continued to trade in negative terrain on Friday as investors resorted to profit booking, tracking weak cues from Asian peers. The Asian stocks were trading mostly lower after Wall Street ended lower in overnight trade, as investors awaited corporate earnings, while uncertainty over the Trump administration's policies also dented investor sentiment. On the sectoral front, pharm and metal were among top losers, falling as much as 1.43 per cent and 0.66 per cent respectively. Pharma major Biocon plunged nearly 7 per cent in early trade after the biopharmaceutical company reported a 51 per cent year-on-year decline in its net profit at Rs 81 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2017.

At 12:20 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 32229.18, down by 154.12 points or by 0.48 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 9983.3, down by 37.25 points or by 0.37 per cent.

In the day’s trade so-far, Sensex touched intraday high of 32381.36 and intraday low of 32164.16, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 9999.35 and intraday low of 9963.05.

The Indian Rupee was trading lower against the US dollar on Friday amid fund outflows by foreign funds and importers due to strong demand for the American currency. As on July 27, the FIIs stood net seller in equity market and sold shares worth Rs 192.56 crore.

Nava Bharat Ventures rallied over 10 per cent amid spurt in volume trade. According to data available with exchange, as much as 1.76 lakh shares have changed hand compared to two week average of 1.43 lakh on BSE.

Reliance Capital surged nearly 8 per cent, hitting 52-week high, after Anil Ambani-led company reported 15 per cent growt in consolidated net profit at Rs 238 crore during the first quarter ended June 30, 2017, from Rs 207 crore in year ago quarter.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 2478.60,-5.45%), Lupin Ltd. (Rs. 1069.00,-3.79%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 555.45,-3.08%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 299.05,-2.61%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 1149.85,-1.94%), among others.

On the flip side, Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 1762.45,+1.96%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 987.25,+1.54%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 7649.40,+0.75%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 164.65,+0.73%), State Bank of India (Rs. 300.20,+0.64%), were among top gainers on BSE.

The Indian benchmark indices slipped in the negative terrain in the late morning deal on Tuesday, weighed down by losses in capital goods and pharma stocks, tracking weak cues from Asia peers. Idea Cellular rallied over 7 per cent after the Competition Commission of India (CCI) approved the proposed merger between Vodafone India. Among others, Bharti Infratel soared nearly 4 per cent after the company’s consolidated revenue rose by 10 per cent to Rs 3,524 crore in Q1 FY18 from Rs 3,211 crore in Q1 FY17.

At 12:20 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 32216.11, down by 29.76 points or by 0.09 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 9955.25, down by 11.15 points or by 0.11 per cent.

In the day’s trade so-far, Sensex touched intraday high of 32374.3 and intraday low of 32198.61, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 10011.3 and intraday low of 9950.45.

The Asian stocks were trading mostly lower, barring Japan’s Nikkei 225, as traders awaited the outcome of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting which will begin later today, and release of US second-quarter GDP due this week, while uncertainty over the Trump administration's policies also dented investor sentiment.

The Indian benchmark indices extended rally in late morning deal on Monday, led by gains in index heavyweights such as Reliance Industries, Wipro, ITC, Adani Ports and Bharti Airtel. The Jammu & Kashmir Bank rallied as much as 9 per cent after the state-run bank reported strong earnings during April-June quarter (Q1FY18), while its asset quality also improved during the quarter under review. The bank has reported 32 per cent year-on-year (Y-o-Y) growth in net profit at Rs 30.19 crore in Q1FY18 against Rs 22.88 crore in Q1FY17.

At 12:25 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 32223.11, up by 194.22 points or by 0.61 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 9958.65 up by 43.4 points or by 0.44 per cent.

The Indian benchmark indices continued to trade higher in late morning deal on Friday, albeit paring most of early gains, led by gains in index heavyweights such as Wipro, Reliance Industries, Coal India, Tata Consultancy Services and Infosys. Wipro jumped nearly 7 per cent after IT major reported better-than-expected earnings and announced to buyback equity shares worth Rs 11,000 crore. Mukesh Ambani-led RIL rose 2 per cent after the company reported net profit of Rs 9,108 crore for the June 2017 quarter, up 28 per cent from the corresponding period last year.

At 12:15 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 31956.05, up by 51.65 points or by 0.16 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 9888, up by 14.7 points or by 0.15 per cent.

The Indian benchmark indices extended day’s gain in the late morning deal on Wednesday, tracking mixed cues from Asian peers, as investors resumed buying after logging its biggest single-day loss in nearly eight months in previous session. Outperforming the benchmark indices, the broader markets were trading higher with MIDCAP and SMLCAP indices gaining, 0.68 per cent and 0.97 per cent, respectively. ITC rebounded over 2 per cent after suffering year’s biggest fall of nearly 13 per cent in the previous session after the government increased the cess on cigarettes to compensate manufacturer losses from lower GST rates.

The key benchmark indices extended gaining streak in late morning deal on Monday, tracking firm cues from Asian peers, as foreign and domestic investors widened bet on Indian equities amid optimism over June quarter corporate earnings. Index heavyweight TCS rose 3.6 per cent as the IT bellwether is scheduled to kick off the earnings season for the first quarter of this fiscal on July 13. On the sectoral front, all the indices were trading in green, except FMCG stock, while IT and Teck stocks emerged as top gainers, rising as much as 1.61 per cent and 1.57 per cent respectively.

Tata Motors surged nearly 5 per cent on the Bombay stock Exchange after its UK arm Jaguar Land Rover reported 11 per cent year-on-year growth in sales at 51,591 units in June 2017.

Among others, infra lender IDFC fell nearly 5 per cent after the board of directors of company to evaluate a strategic combination of relevant financial services companies (including insurance) of the Shriram Group with the IDFC Group and approval for entering into a confidentiality, exclusivity and standstill agreement.

Indian equity benchmarks continued their southward journey during the noon trade on Friday on the back of profit-booking by funds and retail investors tracking mostly weak cues from fellow Asian peers after disappointing US jobs report and on ECB’s plan to unwind stimulus programs.

At 12:17 hours, the 30-share barometer index of Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex was at 31,327.99 down by 41.35 points or 0.13 per cent while the NSE Nifty was at 9,662.2 down by 12.35 points or 0.13 per cent.

Also, investors awaited the June quarter corporate earnings that will begin next week and were also tracking monsoon progress ahead of their next move.

Outperforming the benchmark indices, the broader markets were trading higher, with MIDCAP and SMLCAP indices rose as much as 0.62 per cent and 0.79 per cent, respectively.

At 12:20 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 31212.63, up by 2.84 points or by 0.01 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 9621.55, up by 8.25 points or by 0.09 per cent.

Shares of Texmaco Rail & Engineering rallied as much as 12 per cent in intra-day after media report suggested that Adventz Group has signed a USD 2 billion-plus agreement with Israel’s Lesico group to collaborate in light rail transit (LRT) projects in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

Among others, Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company (SPARC) rose over 3 per cent in intra-day after the drug maker entered into a long-term agreement with South Korea’s Samsung BioLogics for the manufacture of an experimental medicine to treat psoriasis.

The Indian equities extended rally in the late morning deal on Thursday, tracking firm cues from Asian peers, supported by gains in index heavyweights, Sun Pharma, SBI, Reliance Industries, Infosys and HDFC Group stocks. The investors also cheered the RBI policy minutes which revealed that it was for the first time that the decision of the monetary policy committee was not unanimous as Ravindra Dholakia had pitched for a 50 basis point cut in the repo rate, saying several noteworthy developments recently on prices and output fronts warrant a decisive policy action.

At 12:20 hours, the 30-share barometer Sensex was at 31475.94, up by 192.3 points or by 0.61 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 9693.5, up by 59.9 points or by 0.62 per cent. In the day’s trade so far, the BSE Sensex touched intra-day high of 31522.87 and intraday low of 31336.96, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 9698.85 and intraday low of 9642.35. The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 538.05,+1.90%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 961.65,+1.88%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 1655.00,+1.70%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1437.75,+1.39%), State Bank of India (Rs. 293.60,+1.17%), among others.

On the flip side, Lupin Ltd. (Rs. 1070.05,-2.21%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 1102.25,-1.91%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 162.55,-1.57%), Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 248.95,-0.72%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 2669.00,-0.57%), were among the top losers on BSE. On the sectoral front, IT and Teck stocks emerged as top gainers, adding as much as 0.91 per cent and 0.87 per cent respectively. The market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was strong. On BSE out of total shares traded 2660, shares advanced were 1503 while 1018 shares declined and 139 were unchanged.

The Indian equities continued lackluster trade on Wednesday in lack of any major development on domestic or global front, tracking weak cues from Asian peers, amid rising concerns over renewed slump in crude oil price. Aviation stocks were trading higher, with InterGlobe Aviation and SpiceJet hitting 52-week high on strong growth in passenger traffic in May and lower crude oil prices. In absence of any major trigger, market may take cues from progress of monsoons and the country's preparedness for GST as government proposes to cancel registration of firms who will not pass on benefits of reduced prices to customers. At 12:20 hours, the 30-share barometer Sensex was at 31243.26, down by 54.27 points or by 0.17 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 9621.8, down by 31.7 points or by 0.33 per cent.

In the day’s trade so far, the BSE Sensex touched intra-day high of 31305.6 and intraday low of 31193.61, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 9650.45 and intraday low of 9609.35. The Indian Rupee also continued losing spree against the greenback for the second day on Wednesday amid fresh fund outflows by foreign funds and importers due to strong demand for the American currency. At the Interbank Foreign Exchange Market, the local currency was trading 12 paise lower at 64.66 per dollar against the previous close of 64.54 at 12:20 hour. During the day’s trade so far, rupee touched an intra-day low of 64.72 after opening at 64.67. The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 165.85,-1.69%), Lupin Ltd. (Rs. 1095.15,-1.55%), Cipla Ltd. (Rs. 538.50,-1.41%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 461.00,-1.32%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2409.85,-1.30%), among others.

On the flip side, Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1766.90,+0.93%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1420.50,+0.58%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 1101.05,+0.45%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 7245.50,+0.42%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 525.80,+0.38%), were among the top gainers on BSE. On the sectoral front, IT and oil&gas stocks emerged as top losers, falling as much as 0.64 per cent and 0.63 per cent respectively.

The market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was flat. On BSE out of total shares traded 2607, shares advanced were 1238 while 1214 shares declined and 155 were unchanged.
