Extending previous session’s losses, the BSE’s 30-share benchmark index Sensex is likely to open in red today tracking weak global cues. During the day, the markets are expected to remain volatile ahead of the expiry of the monthly derivative contracts on Thursday. In the overnight trading, US stocks ended in red, following which most of the Asian markets were trading in red. China’s Shanghai Composite was at 3,678, down by 12 points; Taiwan Index was at 9,714, down by 17 points; and Singapore’s Straits Times was trading down by nearly 5 points at 3,408. Some losses in the Asian markets were paired by Japan’s Nikkei 225 and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng, which were trading marginally up by 6 and 26 points, respectively.
