The key domestic benchmark indices were trading flat with marginally losses in late morning deal on Thursday, as investors digested the impact of Union Budget, while weak cues from fellow Asian peers further dented market sentiments. Index heavyweight Tata Motors falls over 2 per cent after the auto major said that its passenger and commercial vehicle total sales (including exports) in January 2017 were at 46,349 vehicles, a decline of 1 per cent over 47,035 vehicles sold in January 2016.

At 12:30 hours, the 30-share barometer index of Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex was at 28131.4, down by 10.24 points or by 0.04 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 8699.8, down by 16.6 points or by 0.19 per cent.

In the day’s trade so far, the BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 28194 and intraday low of 28070.81, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 8727 and intraday low of 8685.8.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1265.95,-2.39%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 530.75,-2.02%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 1391.00,-1.69%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 2815.65,-1.44%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 3237.45,-1.42%), among others.

On the flip side, Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 355.40,+3.00%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 3060.00,+2.11%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 935.70,+2.09%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 173.85,+1.93%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 484.00,+1.70%), were among top gainers on BSE.

On the sectoral front, metal and auto stocks were among top losers, falling as much as 0.98 per cent and 0.97 per cent respectively.

The market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was strong. On BSE out of total shares traded 2746, shares advanced were 1399 while 1217 shares declined and 130 were unchanged.
