Indian equities are poised to open higher on Monday, tracking firm cues from fellow Asian peers as investors sentiment were boosted by the strong US job data and withdrawal of financial regulations by the President Donald Trump. Bullish trend in the SGX Nifty Index Futures for February delivery, which were trading at 8,804.50, up by 45 points or 0.51 per cent, at 10:48 AM Singapore time, also signaled a positive opening for Sensex. Optimism also prevailed in the market on hopes of interest rate cut by the Reserve Bank as easing inflation create room for a rate cut on February 8. The foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) have turned bullish on the Indian market post Union Budget as FM stick to fiscal prudence amid growth optimism. The traders would also react to earnings reports as over 100 companies will unveil their quarterly results today, including Abbott India, Gujarat Gas, Honeywell Automation, Titagarh Wagons and Shemaroo Entertainment.
On Friday, the key domestic benchmark ended flat with positive bias after two days of strong gains, as investor paused for breath post budget rally ahead of the Reserve Bank’s policy review next week. India's services languished, with new business orders falling for the third straight month, amid muted inflationary pressure that could offer RBI much room to remain accommodative in its next policy meet on 8 February. The 30-share barometer index of Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex closed at 28240.52, up by 13.91 points or by 0.05 per cent, and the NSE Nifty ended at 8740.95, up by 6.7 points or by 0.08 per cent.

On NSE, total number of shares traded was 163.94 Crore and total turnover stood at Rs. 26735.93 Crore.
On NSE Future and Options, total number of contracts traded in index futures was 172589 with a total turnover of Rs. 12489.61 Crore. Along with this total number of contracts traded in stock futures were 664815 with a total turnover of Rs. 48322.02 Crore. Total numbers of contracts for index options were 2345942 with a total turnover of Rs. 167883.45 Crore and total numbers of contracts for stock options were 390145 with a total turnover of Rs. 28316.40 Crore.
The FIIs on February 03, 2017, stood as net buyer in both equity and debt segment. Gross equity purchased stood at Rs. 5913.15 Crore and gross debt purchased stood at Rs. 1271.68 Crore, while the gross equity sold stood at Rs. 5193.20 Crore and gross debt sold stood at Rs. 1171.65 Crore. Therefore, the net investment of equity and debt reported were Rs. 719.95 Crore and Rs. 100.03.
