Sensex gains; TCS, Wipro up

The Indian benchmark was trading in green in afternoon session of day’s trade. IT sector stocks were on the rise with Tata Consultancy Services leading the pack followed by Wipro, HCL Technologies, Mahindra & Mahindra and MindTree. Shares of Muthoot Finance rose on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) after the company said it would apply for a small bank license. Muthoot Finance, which had applied for a banking license last year, said the NBFC would be keen to apply for a differentiated bank license, adding it might apply for both types of licenses, if regulations allowed this. At 14:34 PM BSE SENSEX was at 25665.88 up by 104.72 points or by 0.41 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 7664.5 up by 24.05 points or by 0.31 per cent.
