The Indian benchmark indices continued to trade in negative terrain during the late morning session on Tuesday, tracking weak cues from Asian peers, weighed down by selling in frontline bluechip such as Reliance Industries, ITC, Adani Ports, HPCL and GAIL. Reliance Industries fell over 2 per cent after the government asked the company along with Shell and ONGC to pay a combined USD 3 billion in penalty following an arbitration award in the Panna Mukta Tapti (PMT) oil field dispute that went in favour of the government, says an ET report.

At 12:17 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 31826.5, down by 248.28 points or by 0.77 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 9854.05, down by 61.9 points or by 0.62 per cent.

In the bearish trade so-far, Sensex touched intraday high of 31911.61 and intraday low of 31626.44, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 9885.35 and intraday low of 9792.05.

Meanwhile, the Indian Rupee was trading higher by 4 paise at 64.40 against the greenback on Tuesday amid selling of dollar by banks and exporters, while sustained foreign fund inflows also boosted home currency.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were ITC Ltd. (Rs. 288.90,-11.31%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1517.70,-2.17%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 381.15,-0.12%), among others.

Meanwhile, Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 1143.40,+1.59%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 2734.10,+1.51%), Cipla Ltd. (Rs. 563.95,+1.45%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 219.70,+1.43%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 517.85,+1.35%), were among top gainers on BSE.

On the sectoral front, FMCG and oil&gas stocks emerged as top losers, falling as much as 5.49 per cent and 0.83 per cent respectively.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2341, shares advanced were 1227 while 984 shares declined and 130 were unchanged.

The Indian continued losing streak on Tuesday, tracking weak cues from Asian peers, as investors remained sidelined ahead of ahead of June F&O expiry due this week and GST rollout lined up for July 01. The broader markets witness sharp correction with BSE MIDCAP falling 0.83 per cent to 14463.09, while the BSE SMLCAP slipped to 15224.1, down by 1.03 per cent. On the sector front, banking stocks were under selling pressure after rating agency raised concerns over mounting loan-loss provisioning and said that banks will have to sacrifice nearly 60 per cent of the value of the loans extended to the 12 indebted companies recognized by the RBI.

At 12:20 hours, the 30-share barometer Sensex was at 31031.45, down by 106.76 points or by 0.34 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 9534.7, down by 40.25 points or by 0.42 per cent.

In the day’s trade so far, the BSE Sensex touched intra-day high of 31294.96 and intraday low of 31016.35, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 9615.4 and intraday low of 9519.45.

State Bank of India fell 2.5 per cent after rating agency ICRA raised concerns over mounting loan-loss provisioning.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 488.70,-3.15%), State Bank of India (Rs. 281.40,-2.58%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 926.70,-1.76%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 271.00,-1.76%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 435.80,-1.65%), among others.

On the flip side, Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 372.20,+1.72%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 314.85,+1.29%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 2662.00,+0.74%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 367.45,+0.62%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2373.80,+0.56%), were among the top gainers on BSE.

On the sectoral front, all the indices were bleeding in red, while PSU and capital goods stocks emerged as top losers, falling as much as 1.59 per cent and 1.19 per cent respectively.

The market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2620, shares advanced were 748 while 1742 shares declined and 130 were unchanged.

The Indian equities extended loss in the late morning deal on Friday, tracking weak cues from Asian peers, weighed down by fund outflows by foreign investors, while caution prevailed ahead of the launch of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) due on 1 July. The broader markets witness sharp selling with BSE MIDCAP plunged 1.4 per cent to 14,555.7, while the BSE SMLCAP was at 15332.71, down by 1.77 per cent. On the sectoral front, all the indices, barring IT index, were bleeding in red while realty and PSU stocks emerged as top losers, falling as much as 2.17 per cent and 1.51 per cent respectively. At 12:15 hours, the 30-share barometer Sensex was at 31157.48, down by 133.26 points or by 0.43 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 9581.05, down by 48.95 points or by 0.51 per cent.

In the day’s trade so far, the BSE Sensex touched intra-day high of 31365.39 and intraday low of 31128.36, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 9647.65 and intraday low of 9565.3.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 443.80,-1.99%), State Bank of India (Rs. 288.90,-1.92%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 505.50,-1.76%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 157.75,-1.71%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 277.70,-1.54%), among others.

On the flip side, Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 258.00,+1.32%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 203.95,+1.17%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 159.70,+0.50%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1436.75,+0.25%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 941.90,+0.17%), were among the top gainers on BSE.

The market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2616, shares advanced were 495 while 2000 shares declined and 121 were unchanged.

Amidst choppy trade, the Indian equities were trading higher in late morning deal on Monday, helped by strong buying across FMCG and consumer durables stocks, tracking mixed cues from Asian markets. However, selling across broader market, with MidCap and SmalCap falling between 0.6 per cent-0.9 per cent, restricted the upward movement. At 12:20 hours, the 30-share barometer Sensex was at 31104.33, up by 76.12 points or by 0.25 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 9593.85, down by 1.25 points or by 0.01 per cent. In the day’s trade so far, the BSE Sensex touched intra-day high of 31155.4 and intraday low of 30869.9, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 9622.3 and intraday low of 9547.7. The Indian Rupee was trading 13 paise lower against the greenback at 64.57 amid fresh fund outflows by foreign funds and importers due to strong demand for the American currency. The weakness in the Indian equity markets also weighed on home currency movement.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 1071.10,+2.92%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 316.50,+2.54%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 208.00,+2.54%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 1581.75,+2.19%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 7169.30,+1.36%), among others. FMCG major ITC rose nearly 3 per cent, hitting 52-week high, after the company reported a 12.13 per cent growth in its standalone net profit at Rs 2,669.47 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2017, helped by spurt in revenue from cigarette segment. On the flip side, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 505.80,-11.04%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 331.95,-4.32%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 981.30,-1.50%), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 531.65,-1.35%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 317.75,-1.21%), were among the top losers on BSE.

On the sectoral front, FMCG and consumer durables stocks emerged as top gainers, rising as much as 1.64 per cent and 1.43 per cent, respectively. The market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2690, shares advanced were 907 while 1620 shares declined and 163 were unchanged.

The Indian equities continued to trade lower in late morning deal on Friday, weighed down by losses in metal and oil&gas stocks, tracking weakness in Asian markets as fall in commodities raised concerns about the health of the global economy. The investors also weighed newly-appointed US president Donald Trump's reform plans after the US House of Representatives passed Republican healthcare plan, replacing Obamacare, while cautioned prevailed ahead of Friday's government payrolls data. On the sectoral front, metal index plunged 2.75 per cent following consolidation in global metals prices, with Hindalco, Vedanta and Tata Steel falling between 2-5 per cent. At 12:25 hour, the Bombay Stock Exchange bellwether Sensex was trading at 29892.47, down by 233.74 points or by 0.78 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 9294.25, down by 65.65 points or by 0.7 per cent.

(Rs. 510.00,-1.72%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1313.00,-1.67%), among others. On the flip side, Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 1146.85,+1.46%), State Bank of India (Rs. 300.30,+0.50%), Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 281.10,+0.45%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 6654.95,+0.27%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 2607.65,+0.06%), were among the top gainers on BSE. On the sectoral front, metal and oil&gas stocks emerged as top losers, falling as much as 2.75 per cent and 1.21 per cent, respectively.

The market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2822, shares advanced were 831 while 1851 shares declined and 140 were unchanged.
