Pre Session-Markets tipped for bearish opening amid mixed Asia trend: 25.08.2014

The key domestic benchmarks are tipped to open lower today as investors and speculators may resort to some profit booking after a stellar rally in recent sessions amid hopes of a rebound in Asia’s third biggest economy after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s independence day speech in which he committed to revive manufacturing. However, worries over the impact of a weaker monsoon may weigh on the Sensex. The Met Department said that India’s monsoon was 19 per cent lower than the 50-year average since June 1. Further, caution may persist ahead of the April-June quarter GDP data to be released this week while the Sensex may trade on a volatile note ahead of the expiry of August futures and options (F&O) contracts on Thursday and a holiday on account of Ganesh Chaturthi on Friday.
