The
key domestic benchmarks are likely to open little changed today tracking a mixed
trend in fellow Asian stocks; and amidst caution ahead of the expiry of the
December Futures & Options (F&O) contracts today. Further, with markets
closed due to a holiday tomorrow on accounts of Christmas, many traders may stay
on the sidelines. Asian stocks were trading mixed as sentiment remained
supported by an upbeat US economic outlook after the world’s biggest economy
grew at the fastest pace since 2003, expanding at an annual rate of 5 per cent
in the July-September 2014 quarter. China’s Shanghai Composite tumbled amid bets
that the government is taking steps to cool the world’s top performing stock
market over the past one month. Hang Sang was trading tad higher while Japan’s
Nikkei 225 surged as traders returned to the market following yesterday’s
holiday.
