The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 210.35,+2.11%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 1675.05,+1.92%), Lupin Ltd. (Rs. 1175.00,+1.52%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 539.80,+1.25%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 159.90,+1.20%), among others.
On the flip side, Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 451.95,-1.00%), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 261.40,-0.67%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2473.35,-0.66%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 302.90,-0.48%), Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 259.10,-0.44%), were among the top losers on BSE.
On the sectoral front, power and realty stocks emerged as top gainers, adding as much as 0.99 per cent and 0.97 per cent, respectively.
The market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was strong. On BSE out of total shares traded 2622, shares advanced were 1532 while 924 shares declined and 166 were unchanged.

The Indian equities continued to trade higher in late morning deals on Tuesday, tracking firm cues from Asian peers, as retail inflation slumped to record low of 2.18 per cent in May, strengthening government's case for lowering of interest rate by RBI. Outperforming the benchmark indices, the broader markets were in upbeat mood, with MIDCAP trading up by 0.56 per cent, while the BSE SMLCAP rose 0.88 per cent. At 12:15 hours, the 30-share barometer Sensex was at 31212.12, up by 116.42 points or by 0.37 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 9642.7, up by 26.3 points or by 0.27 per cent.
