The Indian benchmark indices are set to open lower on Wednesday amid weak cues from the Asian peers.

The Asian markets have opened on a cautious note amid growing concerns over another test by North Korea which is keeping investors across the globe on the edge, while wall street closed lower in the previous trading session as investors weighed fresh tensions with North Korea.

On the banking front, banks have started work on debt resolution plans or are in the process of initiating insolvency proceedings against defaulters named in the central bank’s second list well in advance of the December 13 deadline set by the regulator.

On the corporate front, Infosys will be in focus as it said that it will announce its quarter and half-year ended September 30, 2017 financial results on October 24. Muted trends in the SGX Nifty Index Futures for September delivery, which were trading at 9,930.50, down by 44.50 points.
