Pre Session: Sensex, Nifty seen opening flat ahead of Karnataka election results

Indian benchmark indices are likely to open flat on Monday, tracking muted trend in Nifty futures on the Singapore Stock Exchange, undermining firm trading across the Asian markets, ahead of Karnataka election results on May 15. The equity market may see lackluster session today as most of opinion polls predicting a hung assembly in Karnataka. Overseas, Asian stocks were trading higher after Wall Street ended higher on Friday amid optimism that the United States and China would settle down trade war. Back home, muted trend in the SGX Nifty Index Futures for May delivery, which were trading at 10,822.50, down 0.50 points.
