* BANKING: The Reserve Bank of India has warned banks about a new modus operandi being used to commit digital payments frauds, including through Unified Payments Interface, by accessing a victim's mobile device.

* ENERGY: Private equity investor Actis LLP has scrapped its plan to buy the solar assets of debt-laden Essel Infraprojects.

* EXCHANGES: The Reserve Bank of India has issued revised draft directions for banks and market
participants, on hedging of foreign exchange risks by residents and non-residents.

* FINANCE: IL&FS Financial Services has defaulted on 15.6-mln-rupee payment on term deposit, including interest, due Friday.

* HEALTH CARE: Blackstone is looking to invest about 32 bln rupees to help Ranjan Pai of the Manipal Group acquire Naresh Trehan's Medanta Hospital for 60 bln rupees.

* NON BANKING FINANCIAL COMPANY: The board of IL&FS will form committees of creditors at asset levels--the special purpose vehicles managing its projects--to assess their outstanding payments. It is also looking to appoint a claim adviser at the group level to coordinate the activity.

* PHARMACEUTICALS: Bharat Biotech has acquired Chiron Behring Vaccines from GlaxoSmithKline Asia for an undisclosed sum in an all-cash deal.

* REAL ESTATE: Lodha Developers has inked an agreement to sell 28% stake in its London development arm Lodha Developers UK for 10.23 bln rupees.
