* BANKING: Following the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal's May 2 order allowing banks to tag their exposure to Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services and its group companies as 'non-performing', the Reserve Bank of India withdrew its circular asking banks to make specific disclosures with respect to their exposure to the group.
* ECONOMY: The government has defended its official GDP numbers, saying the GDP estimates of the corporate sector announced so far are not affected by the findings of a committee's report on the services sector.
* POWER: The Supreme Court has sought response from the Centre on an appeal by Essar Power seeking return of money it had invested in Tokisud North coal block in Jharkhand, which it surrendered. The company is also seeking refund of its bank guarantee that it had submitted during the bidding process.
