* FINANCE: The Supreme Court has sought response from IL&FS Financial Services' former vice-president and director Hari Shankaran on the pleas by the government and Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services, seeking vacation of the apex court's April order staying a National Company Law Appellate Tribunal decision.

* MILK: Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation, owner of the Amul brand, announced a 2-rupee per litre hike in buffalo milk prices across all its six brands, effective from today.

* REGULATORY: The Securities and Exchange Board of India has proposed changes to norms related to issuance of municipal bonds, in a bid to broaden the investor base, simplify the process, and strengthen investor protection.

* STEEL: ArcelorMittal India has assured the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal that the entire amount of 420 bln rupees that it had bid for Essar Steel will be available to creditors of the beleaguered steel maker.

* TELECOMMUNICATION: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India plans to soon come out with a consultation paper aimed at reducing television subscription costs.
-In about a month, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India will announce its decision on regulations covering over-the-top applications that provide services similar to those of telecom companies.
