Sensex opens higher, led by healthcare stocks

The Indian benchmark was trading in green in the early session of day’s trade. Healthcare sector stocks were on the rise with Ranbaxy Laboratories leading the pack followed by Divi's Laboratories, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Strides Arcolab and Wockhardt. At 9:53AM BSE SENSEX was at 25163.42 up by 100.75 points or by 0.4 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 7530.9 up by 37.7 points or by 0.5 per cent.
The BSE MIDCAP was at 9234.37 up by 53.53 points or by 0.58 per cent. while the BSE SMLCAP was at 10066.29 up by 84.91 points or by 0.85 per cent
The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 1880 , shares advanced were 1322 while 505 shares declined and 53 were unchanged
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 658.00,+3.56 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2339.40,+1.30 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 2535.25,+1.22 per cent), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 542.15,+1.21 per cent), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 986.40,+0.97 per cent), among others.
The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 333.00,-1.67 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1154.95,-1.59 per cent), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 162.75,-1.54 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 2622.00,-0.85 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 2472.75,-0.60 per cent), among others.
The top gainers of the NSE Nifty pack were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 658.75,+3.72 per cent), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 997.40,+2.10 per cent), Grasim Industries Ltd. (Rs. 3451.00,+1.77 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 2549.00,+1.65 per cent), Lupin Ltd. (Rs. 1044.50,+1.55 per cent), among others.
