Mid-Session: Sensex marginally up; Nifty holds 9650

The key domestic benchmark indices continued to trade flat with positive bias during the noon trading session helped by buying in some index heavyweights including Tata Motors, Infosys, ONGC and Tata Steel among others. Traders took some encouragement with India, pitching for a greater engagement with BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) nations on issues the international community addressed during BRICS Foreign Ministers meeting in Beijing. At 12:20 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 31341.56 up by 29.99 points or by 0.1 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 9666.4 up by 8.85 points or by 0.09 per cent. In the positive trade so-far, Sensex touched intraday high of 31392.53 and intraday low of 31318.87 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 9676.5 and intraday low of 9655.6.
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 465.75,+2.97%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 287.85,+1.66%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 942.85,+1.44%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 167.65,+0.96%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 523.15,+0.74%), among others.
The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 293.45,-8.47%), Lupin Ltd. (Rs. 1112.20,-1.64%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 1637.00,-1.01%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 2814.55,-0.70%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 516.50,-0.65%), among others.
Among the sectors, CDS index was at 16137.01 up by 201.37 points or by 1.26%. Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 528.20,+2.89%), PC Jeweller Ltd. (Rs. 508.95,+1.57%), Symphony Ltd. (Rs. 1302.00,+1.54%), Whirlpool of India Ltd. (Rs. 1131.35,+0.80%), Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd. (Rs. 220.60,+0.23%),.
On the flip side, Realty index was at 2078.1 down by -5.42 points or by -0.26%. Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 442.00,-1.77%), Housing Development & Infrastructure Ltd. (Rs. 89.15,-0.94%), Unitech Ltd. (Rs. 5.07,-0.78%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 550.85,-0.77%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 376.55,-0.54%),.
The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2672 , shares advanced were 1264 while 1262 shares declined and 146 were unchanged.
