Pre Session: Sensex, Nifty seen a choppy opening; Bharti Airtel shares in focus

The Indian benchmark indices are likely to open on a choppy note on Tuesday taking cues from the announcement of fourth-quarter earnings by companies, soaring oil prices and tumbling rupee. Asian shares got off to a subdued start on Tuesday as investors braced for key events later in the week, including the kick-off of the US earnings season and a crucial Brexit summit, while broader concerns over slowing global growth checked sentiment. Wall Street shares delivered a mixed performance on Monday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average losing 0.3 per cent while the S&P500 index added 0.1 per cent. Concerns over slowing US earnings have undermined US equities in recent sessions, though a strong jobs report last week helped to soothe frayed nerves. Back home, trends on the SGX Nifty Index Futures for April delivery, which were trading at 11,692.00, up by 9.00 points.
