* AUTOMOBILE: Renault said that it plans to cease diesel car manufacturing in India from 2020 as it shifts focus on making electric vehicles locally.
* AVIATION: The finance ministry is preparing a fresh proposal for the sale of Air India. The Tata group is not keen to bid for Air India due to the airline's legacy issues.
* E-COMMERCE: Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal met small traders, particularly the
representatives from the associations of kirana stores and retailers, to hear their concern on the draft e-commerce policy.
* ECONOMY: The Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister again hit out at former chief economic advisor Arvind Subramanian, terming his claims of GDP overestimation as absurd.
-Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das said that meeting of the Financial Stability and
Development Council on Wednesday discussed issues relating to the Union Budget for 2019-20 (Apr-Mar).
* NON-BANKING FINANCIAL COMPANIES: The Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday arrested two former directors of Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services group companies in a money laundering case.
